Poughkeepsie, NY- Mr. Darryl Rogers, Sr, 54, 127 Fulton Avenue J2 Poughkeepsie, New York (formally of Columbus) entered into eternal rest on Wednesday May 24, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Twenty-Fourth Street Baptist Church 400 24th Street Columbus, GA with Elder Xavier Maddox officiating. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery according to Hill-Watson Memorial Chapel at Rose Hill LLC 2919 Hamilton Road Columbus, GA 31904. Visitation will be today, Friday June 2, 2017 at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mr. Rogers was born June 17, 1962 son of the late Flora Rogers-Sanders and Curtis Williams. He retired from EFCO bakery in 2015 with over 30 years of service. Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his mother Flora Rogers-Sanders, grandmother Luddie Phillips, grandfather Elijah Williams, siblings Janice Brown and Ronnie Rogers. He leave to cherish his precious memories, wife Grendal Bland-Rogers; father Curtis Williams; sons Darryl Rogers Jr. and Avery Rogers; step-daughters Tamika Ross, Princess Ross and Keishon Williams; six sisters Betty (Campbell) Atkins, Ruby Diaz, Lucille (Jesse) Armour, Cynthia Taylor, Brenda (Christopher) Baker and Sharon Pierce; five brothers Artis Rogers, Otis (Patricia) Rogers, Dexter Rogers, Darryle (Ze-Ester) Williams and Tyrone (Tracy) Williams; nine grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
