Active in educational, cultural, religious and race-relations organizations, he was a member of the School Council of Rothschild Middle School, which is a Partner in Education with David Rothschild Co., and served on the Board of Muscogee Excellence Foundation, the Board of the Literacy Alliance, the Advisory Board of the John B. Amos Cancer Center, and the Board of Trustees of Temple Israel, where he was the treasurer for many years. He was deeply involved in the School Superintendent's Community Round Table and the Partners in Education Board. The educational committee for the Greater Chamber of Commerce, of which he was a member, campaigned to promote the GED tests, and Columbus became the first Literacy Community in Georgia. I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Rothschild while I was with WRCG 1420 AM. What a fine gentleman he was and so knowledgeable he could talk about any subject. My Grandfather worked for Mr. Irwin Rothschild for many years. Barbara you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Mr. Rothschild was a true gentleman with a big heart and respected by all. As Mayor I had the pleasure of working with him on many issues. A person does not die as long as someone remembers them. This wonderful man will be remembered for many many years to come. With sympathy, Bobby Peters.

Barbara, my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Had it not been for David Rothschild I would never had finished Auburn University. I enjoyed my friendship with him when we played handball and his leadership when I was in collge.
God Bless, Leroy Bush
