Dennis was my office mate in Kuwait. He was a great friend, a great coffee drinker (no beer in Kuwait) and a great story teller. I learned much from him. He is one of the few people I know who truely lived. He will be greatly missed.

Dennis, was a father, a Warrior, a loyal friend, a great teammate, a true American Hero, who asked nothing of others, yet gave much to his country, a loving son, a great brother, my brother not by blood, but by living life together, and a piece of me is gone, until I meet him in heaven! I was blessed to know him and to love him! I almost forgot, he was also a Yellow Jacket, through and through! Tech now has a friend in high places!
God Bless all of you who knew and loved my brother Dennis Stanford.

With deep sympathy to the Standord Family, all Denny's friends and Wingmen at the 128th. Denny lived in my house while attending graduate school in Glendale. As former F4 WSOs, we enjoyed a beer or two while sharing our combat mission stories

I remember Denny best as the consummate Guardsman. He incorporated the essential values of the Citizen Soldier. Although he had a demanding civilian job, that required extensive travel, he rarely missed a Saturday with the Guard to fly, rarely missed a drill and rarely missed a night flying opportunity. He was always eager to fly and willing to do those more tedious tasks necessary to the combat capability of the 128TFS. As he said, he would "leave no airplane unflown, no beer undrunk and no man-day unpaid". Denny had to make a painful choice between the Guard that he loved and his civilian job that was transferring him overseas. But even as he left the Guard, he carried on the finest traditions of the American Citizen Soldier by playing a significant role in opening free markets in former Soviet Union and former Warsaw Pact nations, paving the way for democracy to spread into Eastern Europe. Denny, we will miss you.
