Phenix City, AL- Mr. Derrick "Jay" Long, 45, of Phenix City, AL passed Tuesday, August 14, 2018.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, August 25, 2018 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Burton, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Lato, AL. Visitation is Friday, August 24, 2018 from 1-8 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Mr. Long was born on October 4, 1972 in Russell County, AL to Isaac Dowell, Jr. and Eleanor Chambers. He attended Chavala High School and was a member of Franchise MB Church.
Survivors include his mother, Eleanor (Garland) Chambers, Douglasvile, GA; father, Isaac (Vera) Dowell, Jr., Phenix City, AL; brother, Frederick (Markene) Long, Columbus, GA; two sisters, Lakisha (Timothy) Alexander, Warner Robins, GA, Shiranda (Antonio) Lyles, Phenix City, AL; daughter, Derica Threatts, Phenix City, AL; sons, Corderald Threatts, Daiquan Pearson both Phenix City, AL, Derrick Scott, Cudarion Long both Warner Robins, GA, Tyeshon Simmons, Fabian Henderson both Columbus, GA; seven grandchildren; special friend, Aiesha Crawford, Columbus, GA; other relatives and friends.
