Donald Brakefield Obituary

Donald Clinton
Brakefield
October 29, 1975 -
August 27, 2012
Corning, Arkansas- Donnie Brakefield, 36, left this temporal life for one of eternal life on August 27th. He died at home. We give thanks to our Lord that he professed his faith in Jesus Christ. Donnie was a tenderhearted boy that grew into a kind and caring man who would try to help anyone who was down and out. He completed his education as a respiratory therapist and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Society, an International Scholastic Order. He was a city employee. He had a strong love of music and was a sports enthusiast. Most of all, he was a father that loved his children with all his heart. He never got over the loss of his daughter, Justice, to Stevens-Johnson Syndrome in 2006, when she was just 5 years old. The initial report is he may had died from an aneurysm, but all his friends and family know he really died of a broken heart.
He is survived by his son, Dalton Brakefield, of Piggott, AR; his mother, Valerie Pratt (James) of Robertsville, MO; his father, Michael Brakefield (Kathleen) of Manchester, GA; five brothers-James, Joshua & Joseph Pratt, Lake & Logan Brakefield.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Justice Brakefield; grandparents Charles & Bessie Highley, Karl & Johnnie Brakefield.

I lost my only daughter in 2010 to congestive heart failure and many times believe a broken heart will get me too. I feel his pain and your pain. My prayers to the family.
