Dora Dean Dorsey Mackell, affectionately known as "Dee" was the fourth of seven children born to the late Felix and Eliska Dorsey on June 13, 1951 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Dee was a proud daughter, sister, mother, and friend, she lived a life defined by service, strength, and unwavering dedication. She served her country honorably in the United States Marine Corps, a commitment that reflected her discipline, resilience, and deep sense of purpose. Dee channeled that same drive into entrepreneurship, founding and operating her own accounting business, which she ran successfully for 40 years. Her integrity, work ethic, and care for her clients earned her the respect and admiration of all who worked with her. She was the devoted mother of two sons, Kelsey and Steven, who were the light of her life.

Dora Dean is survived by her son, Steven Wayne David Mackell; three sisters, Marjorie Ann Dorsey-Buckley, Molly Ann Dorsey-Clark and JoAnn Dorsey-Mosely all of Columbus Georgia; two brothers, Simon Joseph Dorsey of Irwinton, Georgia and Douglas Edward Dorsey of Elton, Louisiana and a host of nieces and nephews who will carry on her legacy of strength and love.

She now joins her beloved Son, Kelsey Lamont Mackell Jr.; her dear parents, Felix J. and Eliska M. Dorsey; her brother, Robert P. Dorsey; and her Sister-in-Law, Joyce M. Dorsey, who preceded her in death.

Dora Dean's life was a testament to quiet strength, grace, and service to her country, her community, and, above all, her family. She will be remembered for her generosity, her wisdom, and the steady presence she provided to those around her.
