Phenix City, AL- Earnest "Cade" Hendrix, Jr., 73, of Phenix City, AL passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 peacefully in the care of his family.
Mr. Hendrix was born August 21, 1943 in Phenix City, AL to the late Earnest Cade Hendrix, Sr. and Lillian Ruby Hammond Hendrix. He was a retired cabinet builder for Phillips Cabinets in Columbus, GA. He enjoyed family, wood working, crossword puzzles, sports, and bird watching. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Hunter Eppihimer.
He is survived by his children, Deb Morris and Michael of Opelika, AL, Dana Rowe of Whitestone, VA, Earnest "Cade" Hendrix, III and Lori of Phenix City, AL, and Deanne Silverdahl and husband Chris of Opelika, AL, longtime friend, Faye Ferrell; (5) grandchildren, Meagan Patel (Kris), Justin Wood (Ashley), Holly Eppihimer, Perrin Nicolson (Kendall), and C J Rodgers, two precious great grandchildren, Drew and Bentley, numerous other loving family members and many caring friends.
Daddy never met a stranger; he loved everyone unconditionally; and he will be greatly missed, yes indeed.
Visitation will be held Friday evening, January 27, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City, AL. A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held privately with family.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Alabama Kidney Foundation at www.alkidney.org (Kidney Walks>Donate Now>Designation: East AL Kidneys that Kare). Online condolences may be shared at www.vancememorialchapel.net

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. There is little that I can say or do to ease your pain and suffering. May knowing that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many, bring a measure of comfort. Life is so short and those we love are gone from our lives too quickly. God's promise to empty the grave in the near future is found at Hosea 13:14, may the God of loyal love comfort you during your time of sorrow.
