Phenix City, Al.- On May 17, 1932, Eddie Perry was born to Richard Perry and Minnie Sims Perry. He was the second of five children born of this union.
Eddie was educated in the Phenix City Public School System.
Eddie married Susie Hurt. Together, they had three children to love and nurture.
Eddie served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1955. Afterwards, he worked as a civil service employee with the Fort Benning Motorpool.
He was a member of Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church, serving the Lord as a deacon and member of the choir.
Eddie Perry was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, J. W. Perry and Johnny Perry. On April 4, 2012, Eddie quietly departed this life.
Those who loved Eddie will forever cherish their part of his journey. They include his wife of fifty-four years, Mrs. Susie Hurt Perry; his daughter, Dale Perry of Phenix City, AL; two sons, Vince Perry of Columbus, GA and Barry (Sandra) Perry of Phenix City, AL; a daughter, Tammy (Lonnie) Jackson of Columbus, GA; five grandchildren, Shari Perry, Ryan Perry, Raven Perry, Lonnie Jackson II and Shayna Williams; two sisters, Viola (Albert) Kelly and Nellie Battle; one brother, Isaiah (Alice) Perry; four sisters-in-law, Margaret Morton, Julia (Charlie) Robinson, Dorothy Perry and Leila Howard and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
