Edith Hopp Obituary

Edith E. Hopp November 11, 1915 - February 2, 2004 COLUMBUS, GA - Mrs. Edith E. Hopp, 88, of Columbus, died Monday, Feb. 2, at Columbus Hospice House. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at First Presbyterian Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Hasty and the Rev. Jones Doughton officiating, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus. Visitation will follow the funeral services at the church. Mrs. Hopp was born Nov. 11, 1915 in Yonkers, N.Y., the daughter of the late Edith Holland Dreskol and Michael Dreskol. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Hopp was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hopp. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Hopp of Bronxville, N.Y.; a son, Carl Hopp and wife, Anne of Columbus; two grandchildren, Eric R. Hopp of Phenix City, Ala., and Maryanne W. Brown of Fortson, Ga.; and five great grandchildren, Christian Alden Hopp, Ethan Russell Hopp, Joseph Brown, Jonathan Brown and Justin Brown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31909 or First Presbyterian Church, 1100 1st Avenue, Columbus, GA 31901.
