Columbus, GA- Mr. Elano Jacquez Thomas was born in San Francisco, California on September 24, 1967. He was the third child of the late Maria Machado Turner and the late Paul Thomas.
Elano went to sleep on April 2, 2017 Sunday, April 2, 2017 at his home in Columbus Georgia. He now has peace in the presence of the Lord.
"Jack" as he was called by family and close friends accepted Christ as his Personal Savior on February 27, 2017 at the age of 49.
Jack was educated in the Muscogee County School System and a graduate of Kendrick High School, class of 1985. Enlisted in the United States Army where he served for six years. After being honorably discharged he began his career at Home Depot Inc. His was a dedicated employee in the Home Depot stores of Atlanta, Connecticut and Florida. For this dedication he received employee of the year 1996 and over 50 employee of the month awards in his 23 years career span.
Jack enjoyed watching all team sport especially the San Francisco 49rs, Atlanta Falcons, University Of Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves and Duke University.
He was preceded in death by his mother Maria Machado Turner, father Paul Thomas, grandmother Margarita Walker Hilbert and best friends Robert Ingram "Boogie" and Marvin McClairen III
Surviving his departure with cherish memories, include: a loving wife Christi Thomas of Fort Myers Florida, daughters Lanice Thomas of California and Carlee Thomas of Fort Myers, Florida; three loving sisters Melida(James) Chinn of Atlanta Ga, Deborah Dakota Davis of Clarksville Tenn, and Zulema(Shannon) Buckner of Columbus Ga; uncles and aunt, Jose (Nanette) Hilbert; devoted nieces and nephews, Jamila(Altonio) Davis Allen of Clarksville Tenn, Xiomara Chinn, James T. Chinn II of Atlanta Ga, Shannon R. Buckner II and Marcial Buckner of Columbus Ga; great-nieces and great-nephews, Naima Allen Marshall, Alijah Allen and Laysa Allen of Clarksville Tenn; caring cousins, Lynn Roberson of Columbus Ga, Mike Roberson, Gary Roberson, Darryl Roberson and Diomedes Roberson of Atlanta Ga, Jose Hilbert Jr of Cleveland Ohio, Lisa Hilbert, Rodolfo Hilbert and Tania Hilbert of Jamaica New York, devoted best friends Kevin Stanley and Victor (Tammy) Darville; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
A Going Home Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia. Family will visit and share memories after the service.

My condolences to the Family and Friends of E. Thomas. We served together in the Army at Ft. Ord, California. I ran across this picture of us while looking through some old photos and decided to locate my brother. It wasn't the news that I wanted to hear, and it broke my heart. Elano Thomas was a great man and took me in and invited me to his home in San Jose, California when I didn´t have any family in Cali. A real brother and when you have a friend like him, you were family. Rest easy my friend. #lightfighter4life
