Columbus, GA- Eleonore G. Balsamo, 79 of Columbus died Friday, April 22, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, Ga. with Rev. Vernon Prather officiating. A private interment will be held at Fort Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 till 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Balsamo was born May 6, 1931 in Berlin, Germany daughter of the late Gerda Emma and Paul Heinrich Plohn. She was a homemaker and attended St. Anne's Catholic Church. She was a sales associate at Dillards. She was preceded in death by her son, Harold H. Balsamo.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years Fulvio G. Balsamo of Columbus, GA; son, Sal Balsamo of Columbus, GA; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Balsamo; grandchildren, Lisa and Jonathan Balsamo and Chris and Jennifer Balas; great grandchildren, Max and Jake Balsamo and Jada Balas all of Atlanta, GA.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to your favorite charity.
