Elizabeth Daffin
Pafford
March 25, 1920-
February 21, 2012
Columbus, Georgia- Elizabeth Daffin Pafford, 91, of Columbus, GA passed away Tuesday February 21, 2012 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2012 at North Highland Assembly of God Church with burial to follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. The Reverends Dennis Lacy, Robert French and Gene Forehand will officiate. The family will receive family and friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pafford was born March 25, 1920 in Marianna, FL. She is the daughter of the late Charlie Leo Daffin and Myrtle Sills Daffin.
She was preceded in death by husband, Robert B. Pafford, Jr.; son, Robert Alan Pafford; three brothers and two sisters: Robert Angus Daffin, Lonnie Edgar Daffin, Johnnie Elie Daffin, Eva Evelyn Daffin Rachels, Minnie Ola Daffin Houseknecht and Ethel Jane Daffin Abercrombie.
Survivors include son, Stephen Pafford (wife Audrey Kurtz Pafford); daughter, Brenda Pafford (husband Richard A. Erickson); sister, Murlee Daffin Mizell; five grandchildren: Crystal Lynn, Robert Alan, Stephanie April, Hannah Jane and Marianna Elizabeth; also great and great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Pafford was a homemaker and, in later years, worked for her brothers in their grocery businesses. She was a long time member of North Highland Assembly of God and the New Horizons Sunday School class of North Highland and had many cherished friends from her church family.
The close-knit, loving family from Marianna, FL and then Columbus, GA, became closer and even more supportive of each other as the "children" married. The "in-laws" weren't really "in-laws"; they became sons and daughters, brothers and sisters and beloved aunts and uncles. These beloved extended family members are: Eva Paul Daffin, Lunette Lolley Daffin, Talmadge Ray Rachels, Robert Berrien Pafford, Jr., Niles Monroe Houseknecht, James Leldon Abercrombie, Noah Samuel Mizell, and Martha Jean Elder Daffin.
She expressed her love to all she encountered and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Her children, particularly, will miss her wise counsel, which was always a combination of experience, common sense, love and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donation to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Rd, Columbus, GA.

It has been several months since your passing and I miss you deeply. I could not have asked for a better grandmother than you. I think about you often and the memories I have since childhood. Thank you

Grandmother, you were such a wonderful Grandmother to me. You always taught me right from wrong, and words can not express what a difference you made to me in my life, my family, and every life that you touched. You always put God first, and what a wonderful reflection that made on me. I will always love you so much. Stephanie Pafford Hall

I learned of Elizabeth's passing today, March 4, and have been thinking since then of time spent with her and Brenda starting back in the sixties. I was Brenda's room mate and felt that I had found family when I was welcomed by Elizabeth and other family members. She leaves a very special family for the moment but wonderful memories of her will be with you forever. My heart is with you all now.

It was 45 years ago that I entered the family. You were truly a woman of your time. Elegant, Victorian, Proud, and full of Grace. I'm so thankful that your final resting place is in the arms of Jesus. I'm very thankful that my three children had you as a Grandmother. They and I will miss you.

We love you, Grandmother!
