Columbus, GA- Ellis E. McBride, 76, of Columbus, GA, died Saturday, February 24, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Paul Thomas and Rev. Ronnie Chaney officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. McBride was born August 20, 1941 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Robert Clyde McBride and Ivey Odell Bussey McBride. He retired as a Deputy Sheriff from the Muscogee County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of White Rock Assembly of God Church, the Fraternal Order of Police and Peace Officers Association. He was a loving father, husband, brother and granddaddy. Mr. McBride took his last breath here and his next with his Lord and Savior.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Carlton Pate. Brothers, Ralph McBride, Stanford McBride. Sisters, Marie Hand and MaryAnn Raspberry.
Survivors include his wife, Helen McBride of Columbus, GA; daughters, Pam Thomas (Paul) of Columbus, GA, Tina Moss (Ronnie) of Fortson, GA and Cathy Kite (Paul) of Columbus, GA; daughter-in-law, April Pate of Nicholson, GA; brother, Bobbie McBride; sisters, Linda Nicholson and Elizabeth Mulkey; 11 grandchildren, Carlton Pate, Jr, Christopher Moss (Brittany), Amanda Tucker (Ross), Joshua Harper, Zachary Moss (Taylor), Jessie Harper (Nicole), Jared Thomas, Jeni Harper, Maryellen Pate, Jaxson Kite, Tucker Kite and 10 great-grandchildren.
