2322 North Andrews Circle - Columbus, GA- Ethan Allen Turner was born December 20, 1947 to Mr. Jack Roosevelt Turner and Mrs. Mary Eva Turner in Columbus, Georgia. His parents and his dear beloved Sister, Sonja Aretha Turner Flanagan preceded him in death.
Ethan, "Deac" or Allen were name he answered to at various times in his life. He attended Manley Taylor Elementary School, Marshall Jr. high School and was a 1967 Graduate of William H. Spencer High School. He joined the U.S. Army where he was trained as a Heavy Equipment Operator and served several tours in Viet Nam. Allen, after the Army, began a lifelong career as a long distance truck driver. Allen loved the road and the sense of freedom it gave him.
Ethan loved his family and had a great sense of humor. Allen never married but he had several "Loves of his life". He took great pride in the accomplishments of family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Ethan enjoyed life and had reasonably good health for more than 60 years. He developed breathing problems and renal failure and stayed at the VA Hospital in Augusta, GA from January 2012 to July 2014. Allen was discharged to a nursing home in Annapolis, MD in July 2014. He was moved to the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. Ethan Allen Turner quietly departed his life there on Saturday evening, August 30, 2014.
Those left to celebrate Allen's life are: two brothers, CSM (Ret) Jack Roosevelt Turner, Jr, (Sonia), Thaddeus Turner, Sr., Sister in Laws, Rosa Greene, Sheila Turner, and Jonetha Lynard, nieces; Rosalind Turner Arnold, Tracy T. Foskey, Jacquelyn Turner, Kimberly Joyce Turner, nephews, Thaddeus Turner, Jr., James Flanagan, and Christopher Lynard Turner and a host of other relatives and friends.
