I was saddened to hear about Coach Gresham passing. He made such difference in all the lives he touched over the years. To my good fortune he saw something in a tall skinny kid and gave him a chance. When he moved on to Baker we at Central felt a loss now we feel it again.

Coach Gresham meant a lot to me at a time my life when my Dad was busy earning a living, he was a second Dad to me. I used to visit my Mom in Phenix City at Christmas time I would always go to the Christmas Basketball Tournament and make sure I found the Coach in the stands or court side. He would always greet me by name. Coach Gresham was a very special person to me.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Coach Gresham. I attended Baker High School from 1980-1984. I played football for Coach Gresham. I know I presented challenges for him off the field and sometimes on it. I just wanted to let his loved ones know that because of his caring and concern for me I was able to turn my life around. Thank you Coach Gresham and God bless you and your family.

Yes, Coach Henry Greasham made a positive difference in so many young lives. The Coach had a natural ability to brighten the days of those around him with his friendly smiles and sharpness of wit. Central High in the 60's was a better school with Coach Gresham, and everyone looked forward each day to gym class.

I like the words of my brother, "Well done, Coach!"

The Central High School Class of 1960 was saddened to get word of Coach Gresham's passing through a posting on our email group by Jim Reese on Wednesday evening. Coach Gresham had such a wonderful positive impact on the lives of so many young athletes in our class -- not to mention all the other classes. The list of CHS1960 athletes who were inspired by Coach Gresham and others to pursue careers in athletics/coaching is impressive, and extends his influence on to multiple generations of young people that continues today. What a wonderful testimony and living memorial to the value of Coach Henry Gresham's life. What a joy his teams added to our young lives at Central High School! Rest in Peace, Coach.
