Chip defined "Southern Gentleman" and always had that wonderful smile which brought sunshine into a rainy day. I considered it a privilege to call him a friend and I know he will surely be deeply missed by all including by me. Heaven is fortunate to now have one of the Best join its Angels.

I was just a young new face from Wilson NC when I met my husband Armand and Chip and Sally through Fred and Shelby Neely. We were invited to Cartersville-I was so overwhelmed by its beauty and uniqueness. What a lovely man with such poise and kindness towards me. It was an experience I still reflect on. How lucky I was to have known Chip. Sarah Emrich

I met and played intramural sports against Chip at the University of Gerogia. After graduation we played "pick-up" basketball on a regular basis at Northside High with several other UGA grads. He was an excellent player and a great guy. He will be missed by all that ever met him.

The memories of Chip bring smiles. I haven't seen Chip since either High School or at his brother's house, but the memory of his smile and good humor is lasting. Chip's career exemplifies the type of guy he was and I am happy that he passed my way.

Upon learning of Chip Stevens passing, I experienced an abrupt divergence of melancholy and near instant recollection of Chip’s disarming, cheerful, [chipper] manner. Our paths crossed many times over the decades since Northside, though we never met again. It was wonderful to have known him.

Chip was one of our classmates from Northside whose face stuck with you forever. Even now, 50 years later, when I hear his name I instantly think of his broad smile and his ability to look right at you, see into you, and make you smile, too. I believe he was everyone's friend, and I know he was mine. We'll miss you, Chip.
