Henry Tillery Obituary

Henry Dan Tillery, Sr. January 10, 1932- February 15, 2008 PHENIX CITY, AL— Henry Dan Tillery, Sr. 76 of Phenix City, Alabama died Friday February 15, 2008 at the Phenix Health Care Facility, Phenix City, AL. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday February 18th at the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Phenix City Chapel with the Reverend Tommy Poole officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3 PM until 5 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Tillery was born January 10, 1932 in Beaulah, AL. son of the late Clyde C. Tillery and Hattie Horne Tillery. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea where he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and the Purple Heart Medal for wounds received in combat. Mr. Tillery was the former owner of Dan Tillery Tire Centers and was a member of the Phenix City Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Laura Peterson Tillery, children, Brenda Spurlock and husband John , Jr. Tillery, Donna Redden and husband Greg, Danny Tillery and wife Shannon, Audrey Parker and husband Dale, all of Phenix City, Carolyn Gayles and husband Billy, of Columbus, Ga. stepdaughter, Kathy Shelton of Phenix City, grandchildren, Tyler Spurlock, Jennifer Iddings, Michelle Thurmond and husband Tobe, Holli Kirkpatrick, Courtney Johnson, Casey Parker, Chris and Michael Tillery, Chris and Cody Redden, James and Aletha Shelton, 8 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
