Herbert Cashwell Obituary

Herbert Clarence Cashwell, Jr. August 25, 1927 - December 21, 2008 HURTSBORO, AL — Herbert Clarence Cashwell, Jr., died peacefully at his home in Hurtsboro, Alabama on December 21, 2008. He was 81. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margie Vann Cashwell and five children, Kaye Simonetta (Lee) of Jacksonville, FL, Susan Pitts (Ron), H.C. ÒBuddyÓ Cashwell, III (Susan), Dr. Marsha Cashwell (Jim Morpeth), and Heeth Cashwell, all of the Columbus area. A brother, Milton Cashwell (Sue) of Americus, GA and a sister, Geraldine Smith (Roy) of Cedar Springs, GA. He had ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Cashwell was born on August 25, 1927 in New Smyrna Beach, FL, son of the late H.C. Cashwell, Sr., and Emma Mae Tyson Cashwell. He spent the early part of his life in Cedar Springs, GA, as a farmer and graduated from Jakin High School. He married the former Margie Heeth Vann in 1949. They made their home in Hurtsboro, where they lived until his death. Mr. Cashwell was involved in farming, the furniture business and was employed by Carroll Lumber Company for many years. He was also an electrician and TV repairman. He attended Hurtsboro United Methodist Church, where he was an active member. He was an avid Auburn fan. He will be missed at the Òround tableÓ at the City Grill and by many, many friends, neighbors, and relatives. Services will be held 3:00 p.m. CST Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the Hurtsboro United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the Hurtsboro Cemetery. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to the Hurtsboro United Methodist Church or the Hurtsboro Cemetery Fund. Vance Memorial Chapel - Phenix City, AL.
