Seale, AL- James "Jim" Richard Parris, 78 of Seale, AL passed away Saturday February 26, 2011 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm EST Tuesday at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. John Bush officiating, interment will follow at Hiram Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm EST this evening (Monday) at the funeral home.
Mr. Parris was born April 19, 1932 in Heflin, AL and was the son of the late James Oliver Parris and Martha Elizabeth Parris. He was the owner/operator of Parris Construction Company and a member of Crawford Baptist Church in Crawford, AL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Parkman Parris, infant son, Richard Lewis Parris, brother, Olin Parris, sisters, Estelle Anderson and Audrey Cannon.
Mr. Parris is survived by his wife, Virginia D. Crouch Parris of Seale, AL, sons, James R. Parris, Jr. (Sandra) of Indianapolis, IN, Eugene Parris (Eva) of Indianapolis, IN, Joe Parris (Connie) of Indianapolis, IN, Greg Parris (Mary) of San Antonio, TX, Clifford Watkins, Jr. of Fitzpatrick, AL, Mike Crouch (Gayle) of Seale, AL, Johnny Crouch (Dianne) of Seale, AL, daughters, Tina Lunay (Tim) of Indianapolis, IN, Lainey Jenkins of Montgomery, AL, Lisa Crouch Moore (Ron) of Seale, AL, and Judy Crouch of Pine Mountain,GA, 23 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended loving family and many caring friends.
In Lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Columbus Hospice House 7020 Moon Road Columbus, GA
