James Steelmon
November 21, 1937 - January 23, 2022
Columbus, Georgia - James (Jim) Steelmon was born in Columbus, Ga. to George and Nell Steelmon. Jim graduated from Columbus High School in 1956. He went on to attend Florida Southern and received his BS in Business Management. Jim was skilled at many professions and during his later life he went to work for Muscogee County School District. He retired as a Supervisor of Transportation after 25 years of service in 2017. Some of his many hobbies included hunting, fishing, skeet shooting and spending time with his family, extended family and friends. Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley, son, Ed Steelmon (Jennifer), daughter, Wendy Steelmon, granddaughter Elizabeth Steelmon. Extended family Byron Barbour (Keli), Carey Cash, grandchildren, Jordan Cash (Meghan), Kali Barbour, Carsen Cash, Abbey Cash, Ryan Barbour. Jim was predeceased by parents George and Nell, brother, George Steelmon, sister, Dorothy Reynolds, step daughter, Angie Cash. A celebration of life in his honor, to be held at a later date for family and close friends.
