Kenneth Grier Obituary

Kenneth Roger Grier February 14, 1933 January 23, 2004 COLUMBUS, GA - Kenneth Roger Grier, 70, of Columbus died January 23 at The Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Main Post Cemetery with full honors. Following the graveside service, the family and friends will gather at the Mandarin House, 2461 Airport Thruway in Columbus. The family will receive friends this evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Grier was born February 14, 1933, son of Ruby Bennett Grier and the late Grady Grier. Mr. Grier was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a member of BassMasters Club. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. Survivors include his wife, Hak Cha Grier of Columbus; mother, Ruby B. Grier of Kennesaw, Ga.; two sons, Kenneth L. Grier of Acworth, Ga., and David R. Grier of Acworth, Ga.; two sisters, Rudene McClure of Cartersville, Ga., and Sue Maynard of Kennesaw, Ga.; four brothers, William Grier of Acworth, Ellis Grier of Savannah, Ga., Jimmy Grier of Canton, Ga., and Hoyt Grier of Emerson, Ga.; and three grandchildren. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to The Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Rd., Columbus, GA 31904. Family and friends may register online at www.vancebrooksfuneral home.com .
