Columbus, GA- Kevin Matthew "Matt" Probst, 39, passed away December 16, 2018, after a valiant battle with cancer. Matt was born February 10, 1979. He was a graduate of Harris County High School, Hamilton, Georgia and was self-employed.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leslie and Lorraine Probst and his maternal grandfather, Rev. Justin Nave. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rebecca, four children, Kendal and Kaitlyn, age 12, Jacob, age 6, Bo, age 4, his parents, Elisa Nave Peoples(Alvin), and Kevin Probst(Shannon), his brother, Justin Probst(Denise), his grandmother, Barbara Nave, his uncles and aunts, Rev. Brian Nave( Carol), Wes Nave, Tina Robinson(Rev. Keith), Danielle Gentry(Bill), Randal Probst and Priscilla Probst.
Striffler Hamby is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Striffler-Hamby on Tuesday, Dec. 18th at 11:00-12:00, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 pm in Rehobeth Cemetary, Cataula, Georgia, with Hank Reeves and Keith Robinson officiating.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of Kevin Probst and Elisa Peoples! What a long and brave battle Matt fought and I know he couldn't have done it without dear family by his side all the way! I remember Matt and Justin in the youth group at Miller Road Sanctified Church when David and I were there in the early 90's. There was some kind of incident involving fire that I remember causing his parents woe at the time. Mischeivious boys ;) Love to you all!! Renee (Mercer) Shelton
