Columbus, GA- Larry H. Hutchens, 74, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018.
Family will visit with friends on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 5, 2018 at 11:00AM in Striffler-Hamby's Edgewood Hall with Reverend Andy Merritt officiating. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery.
Larry Hutchens was born on October 30, 1943 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Vera Sale Morrison and Roy H. Hutchens. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years, after which he worked for the Department of Army, DOIM for 40 years. Larry was married to Emily L. Hutchens for 49 years. After they retired, they enjoyed traveling extensively. Larry enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. He was a committed member of Edgewood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Emily L. Hutchens; daughter, Amy L. Gaylor; son, Bruce A. Hutchens (Angela); grandchildren: Kathryn Gaylor, Claire Gaylor, Hannah Hutchens and Matthew Hutchens; Aunt Helen Dinkins; Uncle Sherrill Hutchens; and numerous cousins, friends and loved ones.
