Linda E. Carter June 27, 1943- September 18, 2005 COLUMBUS, GA— Linda E. Carter, 62, of Columbus, GA, died Sunday, September 18, 2005, at her home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2005 in Parkhill Cemetery with Dr. Brad Hicks officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Carter was born in Columbus, GA, on June 27, 1943, daughter of the late Dewey Knox and Ellen Gresham Knox. She has lived in Columbus all of her life and was a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church. She was retired from Raymond Rowe where she worked as a decorator. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dewey Knox. Survivors include her husband, John Elven Carter of Columbus; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jay Carter, III and his wife Shari of Fortson, GA, and Philip Carter and his wife Jill of Columbus; two sisters, Pat Allen of Columbus and Deborah Barber of Phenix City, AL; a brother, Donnie Knox of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, Johnny Carter, Grant Carter, Robert Carter, Knox Carter, and Jarrett Carter; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Real Life Church of God, 3628 Calvin Drive, Columbus, GA 31904 in memory of Linda E. Carter. Ms. Linda,

I took care of you at Doctor's Hospital when you were in ICU, I just remember how you would tell me how great my baths were. I will miss you dearly, you were a very dear person to me. I will be praying for you family in this time of sadness.
