Columbus, GA- Margaret Ann Jiles 93, of Columbus, Ga. died Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2016 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Buddy Jones and Rev. Tim Harris officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jiles was born September 22, 1922 in Columbus, Georgia daughter of the late Glen White and Elma Thomason Flanagan. She graduated in 1940 from Jordan Vocational with the first four-year class of Jordan High. She retired after 25 years with the City of Columbus working in the Adult Probation Office. Mrs. Jiles was a member of Chattahoochee Valley Church of Christ, and the Retired City Employees. As a military wife, she and her husband Julian loved to travel and spending time with their family.
Other than her parents, Mrs. Jiles was preceded in death by her husband Julian C. Jiles.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki J. Flanagan, son, William "Chris" Jiles and his wife Sharon all of Columbus, Ga., step-brother, James L. Flanagan, step-sisters, Kathryn F. Shirah and Annett F. Strickland, four grandchildren, Kelli Flanagan Fuller, Kevin Flanagan, Zach Jiles and Brad Jiles, eight great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jackson, Hannah, Glenn, Adelaide, Vivienne, Juliette and John.
The family wishes to thank Marrie Fordam for the loving and devoted care she provided our mother and grandmother. A special thank you to Columbus Hospice for their care and support.
