Martha Newell Obituary
A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 at Rivertown Church 6953 Schomburg Rd. Columbus, GA 31909 according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Newell was born May 18, 1962 in Selma, AL daughter of Bessie Ruth Norman Harden of Preston, GA and the late Arnold Harden. She was widowed by the late Barry Newell and worked in customer service for Publix Supermarkets.
Survivors include her mother, Bessie Harden of Preston, GA; daughter, Alexandria Newell of Carrollton, GA; brothers, David Harden of McDonough, GA and Mark Harden of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Lynn Harden of Preston, GA and best friend, Pam Nichols of Danielsville, GA.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Martha L. Newell account, account number 1000130913386, at any Suntrust bank to help cover medical and funeral expenses.

I've known Martha since I started at Publix back in 2005. She was a very nice woman and I loved working with her, she was a kind and a good person and she always made me laugh. I don't think I would ever get use to the fact that she is gone. She's in a better place and is smiling down on all of us. I will truly miss such a great friend.
