Rome, Georgia - Ms. Mary Rebecca (Becky) Couch, age 78, of Rome, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023.
Ms. Couch was born on May 3, 1945, in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Laurence Robins Couch, Jr. and the late Ila Lynelle Phillips Couch. She was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School, in Montgomery, AL. Ms. Couch graduated from Auburn University in 1967, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She also held a master's degree in education and taught school for thirty-two years. Ms. Couch was a member of the Button Gwinnett Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Chapter AO of PEO, New Romans' bridge group, First Baptist Church and The Conundrums Sunday school class.
She is survived by three sons, Scott Edward Craig and wife, Lisa of Marietta, GA; Steven Phillip Craig and wife, Natalie of Rome, GA; Michael Andrew Craig and wife Lauren of Seneca, SC; seven grandchildren, Scott Edward Craig, Jr., Mary Phillips Craig, Katherine Grace Craig, Jackson Phillips Craig, Reese Elizabeth Craig, Michael Andrew Craig, Jr., and Gavin Perry Craig. She is also survived by one sister, Judith (Judy) Couch Fleming, and her husband, Bob Fleming of Panama City Beach, FL, one niece Anne Thames Cartledge of Smyrna, GA. She had one nephew, the late Laurence Couch Cartledge of Houston, TX.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Rome, GA on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 10 o'clock in the morning.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Music Ministry, First Baptist Church television ministry or Shriners' Hospital for Children
