LEEDS, AL- Mary Ann Humphries Phillips, of Leeds, AL, formerly of Columbus, GA, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013, at her home. Mrs. Phillips was born April 15, 1943, making her 70 years old. A graveside service and visitation will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at Parkhill Cemetery, Macon Road, Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Willard H. Humphries. She is survived by her husband, Luther M. Phillips, Jr., and daughters, Sharon Humphries Spivey and her husband, Ron (Smiths, AL) and Kathy Humphries Davis and her husband, Mike (Leeds, AL). Also survived by grandchildren, Kendall Spivey Chapman, Kaylen Spivey, Micah Davis Mitchell, Katie Davis and Samantha Davis. She is also survived by brothers, George Parnham and John Parnham.

Found a poem I had written to you in the 70's It fits more today
THE BANKBOOK BALANCE IS ALMOST NIL-DON'T THINK IT COULD PAY ANOTHER BILL. BUT THAN THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE, AND YOU'LL ALWAYS BE A GIFT TO ME. YOU'RE ALWAYS IN REACH BY PHONE OR BY CAR, I THINK YOU KNOW THE THINGS YOU ARE. THRU SMILES OR TEARS, YOU'VE COME TO MY AID THE KIND OF THINGS OF WHICH FRIENDS ARE MADE. IF EVERYONE COULD BE BLESSED WITH A FRIEND LIKE YOU' LIFE WOULD BE EASIER TO WORK IT'S WAY THROUGH. IN GOD'S GREAT PLAN WHEN HE ADDS UP THE SCORE YOU'LL COME OUT ON TOP YOU'LL HAVE MADE EVEN MORE YOU'LL BE IN HEAVEN FOR DAYS ON END BECAUSE YOU KNEW HOW TO BE A FRIEND.
