Mary Renner Obituary

Mary Marguerite (Vann) Renner of Smiths Station, Alabama passed into the loving arms of her Savior on June 27, 2025, in Palm Bay, Florida.

Mrs. Renner was born May 30, 1947, at her family home in Smiths Station, Alabama; daughter of the late William M. and Ora Dawson Vann. Throughout her life, she loved Jesus, her family, and her country – having spent most of her adult life working with and advocating for soldiers and veterans: first at Ft. Benning, then at VA Medical Centers across the country. An adoring wife and incredible mother, her warmth, graciousness, and delightfully mischievous spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Eula Clarice Green.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jim; her sons, Bo (Sarah) and Todd (Keri); and three grandchildren: Caleb, Bradford, and Kendall. She is also survived by three brothers, Bernard Vann (Mary Ann), Bill Vann (Randi), Ross Vann (Judy); two sisters, Alice Green and Sylvia Vann; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will celebrate her life at Smiths Station Baptist Church in Smiths Station, Alabama, on Wednesday, November 26.
