Columbus, Georgia - Oscar Alfred, 77, of Columbus passed on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown. The Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at New Birth New Beginning, 322 25th Ave., Columbus. Bishop Alfred Rushin of Perry B. Grove Baptist Church, Americus, GA will be officiating. Interment will be held in Green Acres Cemetery according to the Charles E. Huff's International Funeral Home, Inc. Viewing will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the funeral home located at 927-5th Avenue, Columbus.
Mr. Oscar Alfred was born on October 15, 1944 to the late Joseph Alfred and Julia Williams Alfred in Lake Charles, LA and graduated from high school in Oakland, CA and served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Exide Battery Company with 30 years of service and enjoyed attending worship service at Tabernacle Baptist Church and Word of Truth Outreach Ministries. Mr. Alfred was preceded in death by his wife Annie B. Alfred and his daughter Mary Alice Griffith.
He leaves to cherish his memories one daughter Barbara Bass; five grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
