Columbus, Georgia - Penny King, 70, passed away on July 29, 2022 in Columbus, GA, surrounded by family. She was born on December 19, 1951 to William Lewis Smith and Helen Geneva Smith. She is survived by her sister Patti Thomas of Columbus, GA; her four daughters; Tammy McGowan (Jeremy) of Richmond, VA - granddaughters Hannah McGowan, Haley McGowan; Tiffany King of Hamilton, GA; Tabitha Risinger of Hamilton, GA - grandson Jonathan Risinger; Tara King of Hamilton, GA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Penny had previously worked at Valley Rescue Mission on 2nd Avenue in Columbus, GA for over 15 years. She had a big heart for service work and loved being able to help her clients, even with the smallest of things. They knew Ms. Penny would be there for them.
Penny loved her daughters more than anything, and was a loving Nana to her granddaughters and grandson. She loved reading books and sitting on her front porch. Penny always put others ahead of herself and never missed an opportunity to tell them about the love of Jesus or what He has done for her. She will be deeply missed, but is now dancing anew in heaven.
