Philip Batastini Obituary

Philip Huie Batastini August 16, 1944- January 2, 2005 COLUMBUS, GA— Former owner of Batastini Cleaners and Columbus City Councilman for thirteen years, Philip Huie Batastini, 60, of Columbus, died Sunday, Jan. 2 at his home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel. Burial with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will follow in Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning. Mr. Batastini was born August 16, 1944 in Chicago, Ill., son of the late Philip Joseph Batastini and Otie Huie Batastini. He had lived in Columbus most of his life and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Mr. Batastini was retired from the U.S. Army after twenty years of service. He was the past Master of Mt. Hermon Masonic Lodge #314, member of the Knights of Columbus, member of Scottish Rites and a Shriner. Survivors include his wife, Rosemarie Hargrove Batastini of Columbus; two sons, David Todd Batastini of Box Springs and Philip Scott Batastini of Columbus; three grandchildren, Dalton Turner Batastini, Matthew Scott Batastini, and Cole Cameron Batastini; one brother, James "Jimmy" Batastini of Chicago, Ill.
