Quinton Keene Eldridge September 16, 1918 - February 27, 2009 PHENIX CITY, AL—Quinton Keene "Porkey" Eldridge, 90, of Phenix City died Friday at the Bill Nichols Veterans Home in Alexander City, AL. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Monday at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Elbert Ward and Rev. John Eldridge officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens, according to Colonial Funeral Home, 613 14th St., Phenix City, AL. Mr. Eldridge was born September 16, 1918 in Aberville, Georgia, son of the late HomerJackson Eldridge and Bell Keene Eldridge. He retired from Lommus Industries, was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and member of Bush Road Emmanuel Holliness Church. Mr. Eldridge was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Simmons Eldridge and his granddaughter, Connie Ann Gresham. Survivors include three daughters, Sarah Duff of Auburndale, FL, Patricia Ann Daughtery of Blue Mountain, AL, and Linda Tamor of Phenix City, AL; three sons, Homer J. Eldridge of Lanett, AL, Gary W. Eldridge of Winterhaven, FL, and John W. Eldridge of Lanett, AL; 14 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Bill Nichols Veterans Home and to his caregiver, Agnes "Mrs. Nina" Swails for all their care during his illness.
