Raymond "Gene" Grantham February 8, 1947 - June 13, 2010 PHENIX CITY, AL— Raymond "Gene" Grantham, 63 of Phenix City, AL passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. EST Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City, AL. Rev. John Rigby will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. CST/ 3:00 p.m. EST at Creel Cemetery in Eufaula, AL, the Baker Hill area. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. EST Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Grantham was born February 8, 1947 the son the late Jessie Robert Grantham and Fannie Ree Culpepper Grantham. He was a member of the American Legion,  Phenix City Moose Club and was retired from Mead Woodlands Division. Mr. Grantham enjoyed fishing, poker and he loved Alabama "Crimson Tide" Football. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother James William Grantham. He is survived by his daughter Amanda Ree Whitmire of Phenix City, AL; one brother John Edward Grantham and his wife Coleen of Columbus, GA; one granddaughter Madison Whitmire; nephew John Calvin Grantham and his wife Felicia; great-nephew Tyler Grantham and great-niece Gabe Grantham.
