Richard Cobb

June 22, 1932 - February 19, 2024

Griffin, Georgia - Mr. Hugh Richard Cobb, age 91, of Griffin, passed away February 19, 2024. Richard was born in Atlanta, son of the late Frank and Alma Cobb. He worked for the US Postal Service for 30+ years, retiring as a mail carrier. Richard was a cut-up, never met a stranger, an excellent dancer, and unbeatable when playing pool. He loved sports and was an avid Alabama Football and Atlanta Braves fan. He was a member of the Griffin Moose Lodge #1503 and the Columbus VFW Post #665.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Cobb, daughter, Vicki (Bobby) Evans.

He is survived by his wife: Eloise Cobb; children: Edward Collum, Malinda (Jimmy) Mathis, Tracy Tidwell, Kathy (Al) Furman, Vickie (Sam) Kennison, and Ronnie Phillips; grandchildren: Christopher (Amanda) Cobb, Cameron Cobb, Chris Mathis, Edward (Catherine) Collum, Erin (Eric) Bryant, Tara (Michael) McMahon, Chris Fain, Allison Stebe and Jesse Phillips; and several great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
