Columbus, Georgia - Funeral service is Monday, May 22, 2023 at Colonial Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL. Ron was a martial artist/ instructor 35 years, Karate sensei at Fort Benning 20 years. Ron served in the Army in the Viet Nam War. Ron is survived by his brothers Jim and Ken Ziss, his nephews AJ and Jacob Ziss, neice Tracy Lichliter.

Had a Pleasure of Mr. Ziss being My Sensei. Always encouraged Me to Do Great. And Though I never Finished, I thank The Lord above, for Giving Me the Opportunity to truly witness a Karate Legend. May The IRON BUTTERFLY HIMSELF LIVE ON FOREVER.
