Waverly Hall, GA- Ronnie Earlon Bass, 68 of Waverly Hall, GA died Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Newnan, Georgia after a long courageous battle with cancer.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Oakhurst Farm, 19888 GA HWY 219, West Point, Georgia.
Mr. Bass was born on January 17, 1947 in Columbus, GA son of the late Billie and Ola Frances Bass. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lavon Bass.
Mr. Bass was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Jordan Vocational High School in 1965. He served in the Navy as a Seabee including duty in Vietnam and retired as a Chief Petty Office. He was proud to serve with the Columbus Fire Department before graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. He also was employed in various positions including executive management for several automotive dealerships. Mr. Bass was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Gullatt Bass; daughters, Wendy Hookness (Bobby) of Valrico, FL; Shanna Sellers, of Upatoi, GA; Jennifer Lowery (David) of Waverly Hall, GA; grandchildren, Josh Hookness (Tarah); Alexandra Hookness; Madison Sellers; McCayla Sellers; Matthew Lowery, Adam Lowery; Andrew Lowery, Luke Lowery, Jake Lowery, Eli Lowery and Ella-Grace Lowery; a great granddaughter, DeLaney Rider; a brother, George Bass (Barbara); and a sister, Darrie Chapman (Jay).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to your favorite charity in Mr. Bass' name.
