Ruth Giles Obituary

Ruth Mae Giles August 17, 1927- December 6, 2007 PHENIX CITY, AL— Mrs. Ruth Mae Giles "Polka Dot", 80, of 807 Rodney Street, Phenix City, AL passed away December 6, 2007 at Medical Center Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. today at Phillips Temple CME Church, Phenix City, AL with the Rev. Curtis Giles officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, AL. Mrs. Giles was born August 17, 1927 in Lee County, AL to the late Francis Walton and the late Pleas Walton. She was retired from Food Service at Ft. Benning, GA. Mrs. Giles was a member of Phillips Temple CME Church and was a member of the Stewardess Board and the Missionary Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Charlie Giles, Sr. and one son, Rev. Charlie (Annette) Giles, Jr. Survivors include three sons, Morris (Linda) Giles, Ellenwood, GA, Dr. Frank (Gloria) Giles, Jackson, MS and Gregory (Durniece) Giles, Phenix City, AL; three daughters, Carolyn Giles-Nelson, Decatur, GA, Phyllis (Kenneth) Porter, Marietta, GA and Linda (Ken) Key, Seale, AL; one sister, Margaret Stephens, Cleveland, OH; 17 grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Miss "Polka Dot" will be missed by many, especially her Phillips Temple Church Family. She was always a joy to talk to and would very easily brighten my spirits on a down day.
