Columbus, GA- Sandra Katherine Barton Frazier, 65, of Columbus, GA died on Sunday, August 12, 2012 during a trip in Wyoming.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 22, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel at 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive visitors afterwards.
Mrs. Frazier was born October 5, 1946 in Greenville, S.C. daughter of Walter Bruce Barton of Greenville, S.C. and the late Katherine Miller Barton. She formerly worked as a Nurse at Greenville Memorial Hospital and retired as a head nurse at North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, N.C. She also attended First Baptist Church of Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Frazier was the devoted wife of Dr. William J. Frazier of Columbus State University. Her life was filled with her love of her family and a love of children, as she was a doting mother to her children and a loving grandmother to her grandson Jack. She was also a popular figure with children in her Lakebottom neighborhood, with many of whom she also shared one of her great hobbies: gardening. Mrs. Frazier served many years as a volunteer in the office of Wynnton Elementary School, performing duties as varied as checking in late children to serving as an unofficial school nurse. She continued working with the Wynnton staff even after her own children had moved on to middle and high school.
Other than her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Bruce Barton.
Survivors other than her father include her husband, Dr. William J. Frazier, the Chairman of the Department of Earth and Space Sciences at CSU, daughter, Erin Frazier Noyes (Mike) of Chattahoochee, FL, son, Bruce Frazier of Dalton, GA, grandson, Jack Noyes of Chattahoochee, FL, sister, Deborah Felts (Dr. Robert Felts) of Burlington, N.C., brother, David Barton (Amy) of Clermont, France, and several nieces and nephews.

My sincere condolences to the Frazier Family. I was one of Dr. William Frazier's students my last year at Columbus College. His classes still remain among my favorites.
