Columbus, Georgia - Sandra Urban, age 72, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
Originally from Wisconsin, Sandra joined the military and traveled to many locations, before meeting her husband, Otto Urban, in Fort Benning (now known as Fort Moore). They traveled to Hawaii and had their two sons, Paul and Brian Urban, before returning back to Columbus and establishing a beautiful life and home together.
She was a devoted member of Pinehurst Baptist Church, where she served many jobs and responsibilities. There, she and her dear friend, Anita, spent their time caring for its members. Many years later, Sandra became a loving grandmother to three granddaughters, Maria, Emily, and Julianna Urban, and gave the rest of her life devoted to her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Otto P. Urban; her son; Brian, her sisters; Teddi and Barbara; and her granddaughters; Maria, Emily, and Julianna; in addition to several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother; her parents; her sister, Sharon; and her son, Paul.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Edgewood Hall, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 11:00AM. Pastor Tony Dickerson will be officiating. Family will visit with friends on Wednesday morning from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Burial will be held at Parkhill Cemetery following the chapel service with military honors.
