Columbus, Georgia - Ms. Sarah F. Jones, 86, of Columbus passed on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral Services for Ms. Jones will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Henry Lee Burnette will be officiating. Interment will be held in Green Acres Cemetery according to the Charles E. Huff's International Funeral Home, Inc. Viewing will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the funeral home located at 927-5th Avenue, Columbus, GA 31901.
Ms. Sarah F. Jones was born September 12, 1937, to the late Willie Eugene Byrd and Willie Idell Williams Byrd in Cusseta, GA. She was a 1957 graduate of William H. Spencer High School and attended Columbus Tech graduating with a Nursing Degree. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) and a member of Grace and Truth Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Reginald Jones (Pamela), Columbus; one daughter, Fanthnecia Bufford (Darryl), Atlanta; one brother, Douglas Byrd (Patsy); three sisters, Eleanor Jones (Jimmie), Betty Chance and Ruby Chambers all of Columbus; 1 grandchild, Kenya Ash; two great-grandchildren, Alexis Walker and Aubrey Ash all of Columbus and a host of other relatives and friends.

So sorry to hear of Ms. Sarah´s passing. She was always in my thoughts after she retired from the hospital after taking care of sick children for so many years.
