Waverly Hall, GA- Ret. Lt. C.F.D. Thomas Allen "Tommy" Standridge, 69, of Waverly Hall, GA died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eric Estes officiating. A private interment with military honors will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Standridge was born May 11, 1943 in Columbus, GA son of the late Thomas P. and Tharon Stiles Standridge. He had retired after 31 ½ years with the Columbus Fire Department as a Lieutenant. He was the founder of TAS Inc. Great Southern BBQ Sauces. He had served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Ada Grace Nutt Standridge of Waverly Hall, GA, daughters, Lana G. Hardy (Keith) of Columbus, GA and Tracey L. Standridge of Waverly Hall, GA, sister, Carla L. Standridge of Columbus, GA, brother, Henry "Don" Standridge of Waverly Hall, GA, grandchild, Allen "Little Buddy" F. Hardy, mother-in-law, Thelma Nutt of Columbus, GA, sister-in-law, Judy Turner of Layton, UT, special cousins, Kay and John Rice of Phenix City, AL, and several other cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Columbus Hospice 7020 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA 31909 www.columbushospice.com or to John B. Amos Cancer Center 1831 5th Ave. Columbus, GA 31904.

We are so saddened and will miss hearing Tommy's calm demeanor in which he told a story. We are thankful for having shared such good times. He was a true friend and will be greatly missed. Our deepest condolences to Grace, Tracey, Lana, Keith & Allen.
