Columbus, Georgia - Virginia Etheridge Stephens was born on October 7, 1927 in Columbus, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Thomas M. Etheridge and Janie Ridley Etheridge. Virginia passed away on August 17, 2023 at the age of 95. She graduated from Columbus High School and attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, Georgia. Virginia was married to the late James R. Stephens. She was Christian by faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Columbus Georgia. Shortly after her husband's death, she moved to North Georgia to live with her daughter, Jenny and her family. Virginia will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her daughters: Jane S. Bush of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and Amie V. "Jenny" Price and her husband James R. Price of Snellville, Georgia; three grandchildren: Dr. Stephanie J. Bush of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Keaton J. Bush of Louisiana, and Ridley Griggs Kindig (Scott) of Lawrenceville, Georgia; three great grandchildren: Knailor Bush, Stella Rose Kindig, and Hatcher Griggs Kindig; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Virginia was predeceased by her parents, her husband, James R. Stephens, and her brother T. Harrison Etheridge.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.

Jane & Jenny, My deepest condolences to you & your families ! I remember your Mom well, of course! What a beautiful legacy she leaves. Mom passed 9 weeks ago & im still at her house. Would love to see you ! Her home phone is the same if you can call ? So wonderful we had our Moms over 70 years!! Love to you both ( we live in Ponte Vedra NOCATEE)
