Columbus, Georgia - Mr. Walter Curtis Carter, 73, of Columbus passed on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at his residence. A funeral service for Mr. Carter will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Locust Hill Baptist Church, 8300 Warm Springs Road, Midland, GA 31820. Rev. Willie Williams, Pastor will be officiating and Rev. F.R. Smith will deliver the eulogy. Interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL according to the Charles E. Huff's International Funeral Home.
Mr. Walter Curtis Carter Jr., affectionately known as "Skeeter", was born on July 19, 1952 in Midland, GA to the late Walter Curtis Carter Sr and the late Nettie Mae Carter and was a proud 1970 graduate of Carver High School. Walter honorably served in the military for 22 years. During his career, he was awarded numerous honors such as: Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Once Walter retired, Carter's Towing was born.
Walter leaves to cherish his many fond memories: his wife, Bernice Louise Carter, two sons, Walter Curtis Carter III (Angie), Kevin Curtis Carter (Trisha); two daughters, Trikella Renae Rodriguez (Alex Rodriguez), Twyla Montiquenita Thompson (Levester); one sister, Annie Carter Murray; one sister in law, Dorothy Carter; 10 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
