Smiths Station, AL- Dea. Wilburn "Tookie" Morgan, Sr., 88, of 286 Lee Road 286, Smiths Station, AL passed Saturday, May 23, 2015 at East Alabama Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. EST, Friday, May 29, 2015 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Smiths Station, AL with Rev. Jeffrey McCauley, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is May 28, 2015 from 1 - 8 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Dea. Morgan was born July 7, 1926 in Smiths Station, AL to the late George Morgan, Sr. and the late Annie Baker Morgan. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Smiths Station, AL and had been employed as a textile worker.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Randle and Gloria (Tony) Grier both of Smiths Station, AL; Frances (Charles) Cook of Valley, AL; six sons, Wilburn (Renee) Morgan, Jr. of East Chicago, IN, Walter (Vera) Morgan, Sr., Donnie Morgan and Pastor Marshall (Kamika) Morgan, Sr. all of Smiths Station, AL; Jerry (Emma) Morgan, Sr. of Lanett, AL, Winford (Sandra) Morgan of Valley, AL; 49 grandchildren; 70 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.
