Jacksonville, FL- Mr. William E. Hurt, Jr., 53, of 1975 Phoenix Avenue, Jacksonville, FL passed Saturday, July 1, 2017 at University of Florida Health, Jacksonville, FL.
Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. EST, Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church with Dr. Nathaniel Copeland, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation is today, July 15, 2017 at Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church from 11:30 - 12:30 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Mr. Hurt was born October 14, 1963 in Phenix City, AL to the late William E. Hurt, Sr. and the late Sarah Justice Hurt. He was employed with US Security.
Survivors include four children, LaSaun (Kenneth) Dupree and Walitta Johnson both of Ellaville, GA; Joshua Scarver and Jamol Scarver both of Jacksonville, FL; three sisters, Patricia (Jarral) Averett of College Park, GA; Bertha Hurt of Midland, GA; Julia Averett of Columbus, GA; a devoted friend, Gloria Lampkins of Jacksonville, FL; 11 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
