Willie Dorsey

August 13, 1946 - March 9, 2024

Columbus, Georgia - Mr. Willie Dorsey of West Point, GA passed away Saturday at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus. He was 77 years old.

A native of Hamilton, GA and the son of the late Eugene Maddox Sr. and the late Mattie L. Dorsey, Willie retired as a Taxi Operator for Radio and Co-Op Taxicab companies. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hamilton. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include four sons, Terrell Dorsey, Rodney Dorsey (Cheryl), Brodic Dorsey (Ebonee) and Christopher Dorsey; nineteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; three siblings, Katherine Jennings, Eugene Maddox, Jr, (Patricia) and Camille Vasser (Ricky); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Dorsey will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery following a 3:00 PM Homegoing Celebration in the sanctuary of the Church. Pastor Timothy Maddox will officiate. Visitation is 2:00 til 5:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Online condolence and guest book signing may be made at progressivefuneralhome.com. The Progressive Staff is privilege to serve the Dorsey Family.
