Columbus, Georgia- Mrs. Yolanda L. Williams, 40, master cosmetologist, of Columbus, GA, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012 at her residence.
Memorial services will be 11 am, Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Locust Hill Baptist Church. Pastor E. Merle Brown will officiate according to Sconiers Funeral Home, 836 5th Ave. Columbus.
Mrs. Williams was born November 24, 1971 in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of William Shellings and Erma McCray. Yolanda was a 1989 graduate of Kendrick High School and a 1990 graduate of Columbus Technical School. She was co-owner of Ultimate Touch Beauty Salon from 1996 until her health failed. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Locust Hill Baptist where she served in the following ministries: Usher Board, Choir, Youth Adviser, Vacation Bible School, and Ministers Wives.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Shellings.
Survivors include a very devoted husband, Carlton Williams Sr., a son, Carlton Williams Jr., a daughter, Carlonda Williams, four brothers, Johntu Shellings, Simpson Shellings, David Shellings, and Corneail McCray, four sisters, Brenda (Calvin) Williams, Kim (Ricky) Alford, Linda (Hatcher) Crawford, and Meckeche Camp-Carrell, and other relatives and friends.

I graduated from Kendrick in 1990 and I do rememeber your love one that has gone home to be with the Lord, my heart goes out to her family may GOD continue to keep the family under his wing in this time of sorrow!!!!!

To the Shelling and Williams' Family, my prayers are with you all. May God continue to comfort you during this time. She was a true friend in high school who wasn't afraid to let anyone know that she was a Christian. Every time I hear the song ‘Tomorrow' I think of my play play Auntie Tinka. Yolanda will be missed but never forgotten.

I am sorry to hear of Yolanda's passing. You and the family are in my thoughts in prayers. KHS Class of 1989 said that we would support one another at our 20th reunion at least if only by words and thoughts. So know that we are here for you even if we can't be there physically.

Mrs Yolanda you were the first Hairstyle Diva I had here in columbus when i moved here in 2005, I really enjoyed you because you had that caring disposition and gave me that inspiration to receive a Masters Degree. Please know that My family Normeychia, Tim and I will always be greatful for the time you gave us. You are definitely one of God's Angels....
