Arnold Clark Obituary

Arnold "Sam" Clark, 82, of Peterborough, NH, died peacefully, Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:32 PM. He was surrounded by members of his family.

Arnold was born on August 9, 1930 on Pleasant Street in Antrim, NH where he resided for the majority of his life. He left Antrim from January 9, 1952 until October 8, 1953 while he was serving his country in the Korean War. When he returned home he married the love of his life, Jean, on January 23, 1954. They purchased their first home on Pleasant Street where they raised their five children.

Arnold worked at Monadnock Paper Mill from December 7, 1953 until December 1, 1992. Upon retiring, Arnold, Jean and their daughter Debbie moved to Gulf Shores, Alabama, where they lived for eight years. They returned back to NH in October of 2005 and have resided in Peterborough since. Even though he lived in Peterborough, Arnold always considered Antrim his home and he referred to it as "His Town". He was very active in the Antrim American Legion and he was a member of the Antrim Fire Department for 25 years.

Arnold had a very long and happy life. He had many great stories and jokes to tell and songs to sing. He will be truly missed by all who loved him.

He is survived by his wife Jean, his two sons; Jim of Peterborough and Matt of Orange Beach, AL; his two daughters; Audrey of Woodruff, WI and Becky of Portland, ME. He will also be missed by his five granddaughters, six grandsons and his four great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Always thought so fondly of Dancin' Sam, and his stories- not to mention his patience with the crazy antics of two young hairdressers that would tornado through his house occasionally. RIP Mr. Clark... and say hi to Deb for me <3 Sincerest sympathies to Audrey, Mat, Jim and especially to my dear friend, Becky, and all the family. XO

I remember Sam Clark. I played a lot of ball with him. When he met me, he always smiled. Why not, he married my basketball coach's beautiful daughter.
Still playing at 84.
