Bruce Lee Birenbaum

Peterborough, NH - Bruce Lee Birenbaum, (65), of Peterborough, passed away unexpectedly on June 12th, 2025, after a brief illness. He was born on June 13th, 1959, in Schenectady, NY to Issac and Wilma Birenbaum.

Bruce was raised in DeWitt, NY and after graduating high school decided to head out west to San Francisco to study cartoon illustration. He later returned to New York state where he graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with a degree in design engineering. Following college, Bruce worked as an engineer for New Hampshire Ball Bearing for over a decade. He decided to make a career change and pursued training in massage therapy at the Northeastern Institute of Whole Health in Manchester, NH and he subsequently opened his own successful massage business that he ran for over 15 years. This is where Bruce found his true passion for helping people heal physically and energetically. Bruce also loved volunteering his massage services at Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield, NH. Bruce lived in Peterborough for over thirty years. He loved the community and all his friends there dearly.

Bruce was a loving father who instilled in his children many of his own qualities such as curiosity, openness, independence; and encouraged them to pursue their dreams. His own curiosity led him to enjoy life to the fullest. Bruce was a runner for many years and completed both the London and Boston marathons. He loved spending many long hours in the woods or on the lake fishing with his son and friends. He loved music and slow mornings drinking coffee in his favorite chair while talking with family. Bruce and his wife Kim enjoyed going to live music, ATVing, and road tripping out to North Dakota to visit family. He loved his Dogs. He loved to laugh.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Kim Roth of Peterborough; a daughter Trista Birenbaum Noll and her husband Chris, of Bath,ME; a son Joshua Birenbaum and his wife Abbe, of Bennington.

A celebration of Bruce's life will be held on Sunday July, 13th from 12:30pm to 3:30pm at Harlow's Pub in Peterborough. Friends and community are welcome to come and share their memories.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bruce's name to a charity of your choice.
